Dear all,

Hope you’re all doing okay and managing as best you can in the current situation.

In our last email sent out 20th March we emphasised the importance of keeping up our communication with each other. We are still here to answer and questions you may have.

The latest update from Scottish Association of Landlords was released today. According to their advice, move ins are still to go ahead where the incoming tenant is not able to postpone the move in date and move out checks are also still to go ahead only after the tenant has moved out for 72 hours. Also emergency maintenance work such as heating/hot water repairs and water leaks are able to go ahead. You can see more here:

Communities secretary Aileen Campbell confirmed in Scottish Parliament yesterday that emergency coronavirus legislation will include a six-month ban on evictions from social and private rented sector accommodation. The First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, also supported proposed legislation to protect all types of tenants during the Covid-19. You can view the article here:

The latest Landlord Focus Magazine has been released (note was published pre-coronavirus). The Scottish Government has decided to postpone the introduction of the minimum EPC requirement until 1 October 2020 (page 11). The requirements as part of the EPC draft regulations can be found on page 11. The link to the magazine is here:

Take care and we will continue to keep you updated with news coming in.

Kindest Regards
