Dear all

This is not the update email I expected to be sending out in March 2020, however in light of recent events Glasgow Property Letting has taken the decision to restrict our working hours and days on a temporary basis and close our office temporarily. Colleagues will be mainly working from home with access to email.

We will respond to you but please bear with us as this may take longer than usual.

As all members of staff have access to admin@glasgowpropertyletting.com, I would recommend general emails are sent to that address.

Updates are available on Twitter at https://twitter.com/glasgowproplett

The Scottish Government has recommended introducing social distancing measurers. We need to consider whether or not to conduct non-essential tenancy visits.

If you are self-isolating because you are symptomatic or have been in close contact with someone who is symptomatic then contact should be avoided until the end of the isolation period.

If you are self-isolating because you are concerned about catching COVID-19 and if you are willing to allow access to the property if certain precautions are put in place e.g. the contractor/visitor washes their hands and uses hand sanitiser before entering, avoids close contact with the self-isolating individual (keeping a distance of at least 2 metres, or having you shut away in a room the contractor/visitor doesn’t need access to) and windows are kept open during the visit.

In some cases, following this guidance may mean having to delay carrying out property viewings, inspections, repairs or safety certificates.

Instead of carrying out property inspections consider reporting and discussing any problems/maintenance issues instead. Contractors might be able to talk you through some repairs over the phone.

We await further government guidance on the procedure to follow if emergency maintenance work needs to be carried out in a property occupied by someone exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 and cannot be postponed until the end of their isolation period.

I am certain you have seen many videos in washing your hands and how to prevent the virus spreading, but incase you need further advise on what to do if you are showing symptoms
