Today , among other things is Take back the lunch break day, which in these working from home and social distancing times is an almost foreign thought.
While going through my usual household tasks and paperwork at the weekend I updated my home insurance to reflect working from home and also the insurance I have on the property I rent out as a landlord as the tenant will be working from home going forward.
Landlords should have the appropriate landlord insurance as matter or course, however It will be a change in lifestyle that landlords will have to think about as more people will be working from home and need to have a designated space as an office. It could be something we see going forward that the unique feature of a property that is let quickly is the space for a desk and work station.
With today’s announcement by the First Minister that Scotland is moving to Phase 2 of lockdown easing, the government has advised that viewings and home moves can resume from 29 June.
Currently these are only permitted where a tenant has a reasonable need to move, which we have been able to assist with.
From 29 June there will no longer be a need for a tenant to demonstrate that they have a reasonable need to move. Government guidance will be published in due course to provide information for landlords and letting agents on how to safely conduct these activities.
The Scottish Government has updated the route map for Phase 2 and it is worth checking this, as for some Phase 2 items, implementation dates are still to be confirmed. Phase one easy to read notes are in this link for reference
Short email this week, there is a lot going on in the world and as Glasgow property Letting have been working through the pandemic, things are not changing for us, we have always been business as usual!
Also the sun is shining in Glasgow and my son and I are celebrating the last weekend before the official home learning stops and we can get into summer holiday mode, later bed times and playing on the trampoline will start.
